João was member of the corporate and real estate departments at Uría Menéndez – Proença de Carvalho in Lisbon. While at Uría, he advised international clients and major private equity funds in complex and demanding M&A transactions. He was also Assistant of the Secretary of State for Justice of the XVII Portuguese Government and MBA Intern at InterRisco, a private equity based in Oporto. At CCSL Advogados João is a non-executive Partner being also the Managing Partner at Planalto Capital.

João holds a law degree from the University of Lisbon – School of Law (2007), a post-graduate degree in corporate law from Católica University – Lisbon School of Law and an MBA from IESE Business School, in Barcelona.

João is a specialist in private equity issues having a dual public and private law perspective. He is a qualified Portuguese lawyer and speaks fluent Portuguese, English and Spanish. During his MBA João headed the IESE Private Equity Club and is also a member of several organizations.
