Change to the Legal Framework of the Public Passenger Transport Service

Anticipating the expiration of the transitional regime that was in force until 3 December, Decree-Law 169-A/2019 was published on 29 November, introducing changes to Article 10 of the Legal Framework of the Public Passenger Transport Service. These changes allow the Transport Authorities to extend the current provisional authorisations for public passenger transport, provided that prior to such extension they initiate the pre-contractual procedure for the selection of a new operator, by submitting the procedural documents to the Mobility and Transport Authority for its opinion.
