Creation of the National Housing Plan

Decree Law no. 26/2021 was published on 31 March 2021, by means of which the National Housing Plan was created with a view to grant housing to people in need of emergency or transitional accommodation solutions. This response will be implemented through the National Housing Plan List, which aims to identify the properties available, at each moment, for use as urgent accommodation and for the provision of housing solutions for people in need.

The National Housing Plan covers situations of risk and/or social emergency resulting from unforeseeable or exceptional events, namely natural disasters, fires, pandemics, unplanned migratory flows or situations requiring urgent accommodation for people who are temporarily without housing.
