Government approves Regime of Equity Loans

The legal regime for equity loans was published on the official journal through Decree-Law no. 11/2022 of 12 January.

Under the terms of the diploma, this regime aims to introduce an innovative legal figure in the Portuguese legal system, by establishing that the remuneration of the credit will correspond to a participation in the results of the borrower and by attributing to the borrower the right to convert credits or debt securities into capital, subject to certain conditions being met.
